Will PPP Ever Learn
A Lesson?

Pakistan Peoples Party is the only political
party in the entire world which has never learned any lesson from its
mistakes.
Its founder and Chairman Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto
was hanged by national and international establishments in total
unison, but it continued playing its role of using people to
come into power and serving the interests of national and
international establishments. Benazir Bhutto, the daughter of
the East, was intelligent enough to
learn this lesson and change, but she more eagerly served
national and international establishment at the cost of the
people who brought her in power twice in 80s, and 90s.
Eventually, she was eliminated from the same forces she served
so eagerly.
Now, her widower, Mr. Asif Zardari is
treading on the same path with full zeal which Z. A. Bhutto and
Benazir Bhutto adopted.
His statement, “We are following BB’s
footsteps…….” is so true that he does not leave iota of doubt
that he is not following BB’s footsteps.
What are Z. A. Bhutto’s and BB’s footstep
anyway?
Beat all the drums of peoples’ causes to come
into power and when you are in power serve the national and
international establishments the best possible way. Be part of
their conspiracies, and protect their interests. Do not move a
hair away from their policies.
Isn’t that what Mr. Asif Zardari is doing
right now? He is protecting national and international
establishments' interests and exactly moving on their
charted course. He has admitted in his statements it is not he
who removed general Musharraf from power. There were some hidden
forces who gave him a signal to move against general Musharraf
and so he did. But the same hidden forces warned him to remain
vigilant about general Musharraf’s honor and safety. They asked
him to present guard of honor to general Musharraf and insure
his unscathed departure first from the parlors of power and then
from Pakistan. And even if he wants to live in Pakistan, make
sure he does not face any unpleasant situation. So much for the
ousted, criminal dictator general Musharraf who made the lives
of one hundred and sixty million Pakistanis a living hell for
the last 9 years and who made Pakistan a free for all market
place fore every national and international flee catcher.
Then again, Mr. Asif Zardari is tossing
shinning and glittering gems in the air every day about deposed
judges since his “Pakistan Peoples Party” has taken over the
reigns of poor Pakistan. All PPP leaders and spokes persons are
in unison singing the songs of restoration of judiciary since
the day Prime Minister Gilani delivered his first speech on the
floor of the parliament before taking oath. Mr. Asif Zardari,
again following the footsteps of Z. A. Bhutto and Benazir
Bhutto, talks about peoples’ issues but clearly denies restoring
the judges because national and international establishments do
not want him to restore the judges.
This duality of words and actions has made
PPP pay very heavy price. Z. A. Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and
thousands of other PPP sympathizers dearly paid for this duality
of words and action. Their blood, tears and sighs are still in
the air of Pakistan.
Now, Mr. Asif Zardari is exactly galloping on
the same path, in the same fashion, with the same kind of people
around him and with the same trumpets in their hands. He is
talking about peoples’ interests, but whole heartedly serving
the national and international establishments on the cost of the
very people who over and over helped PPP to come into power.
Is Pakistan Peoples Party ever going to learn
any lesson and straighten ups its acts? I don't see a
possibility. PPP will continue serving national and
international establishments whole heartedly while reciting the
mantras of peoples' politics. They will continue doing the same
thing over and over expecting different results, but
meeting the same fate? Let us wait and see who is next in line
after Z. A. Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto. After all, PPP is
the party of martyrs and this tradition must continue.
